THE MARCH NOTE Volume 01. With Fig, as an Offering

A small in-store gesture shaped by season, scent, and the atmosphere of the Paddington store.

THE MARCH NOTE Volume 01. With Fig, as an Offering - BLACK BLAZE

Last weekend, we marked the season with a quiet in-store offering at our Paddington store. Inspired by one of our enduring fragrances, Vetiver & Fig, each purchase came with a box of fresh figs — a simple gesture that brought the scent’s mood into physical form.

For us, fragrance often begins with place, memory, and the subtle details that stay with us. Vetiver & Fig has long been one of those scents — earthy, gently sweet, and layered with the warmth of fruit, wood and smoke.

For this small weekend activation, the idea was to take something usually experienced through candlelight and diffuse it into the room in a more immediate way.

Fresh figs were placed throughout the store and offered with every purchase across 14–15 March at our Paddington store. The gesture was intentionally simple. Rather than creating a large promotional moment, it was designed as an extension of the space itself — seasonal, tactile, and quietly generous.

Set within our newly reopened store, the offering also reflected the way we continue to think about retail: not only as a place to shop, but as a place to encounter fragrance, objects and atmosphere together.

Fruit, scent, wax, stone and timber met across the room, turning the weekend into a fleeting still life shaped by the mood of the store.

Sometimes a small offering says enough. In this case, figs became a way to bring a familiar fragrance a little closer to hand.
